Experience

Marie has researched food & drink for 3 decades across 6 continents. Having judged wine and sake for almost 20 years, and now Spirits, she is now also very active in sake, including presenting at Milan Expo, various Food and Drink Festivals in UK, Imbibe,  Vinexpo in Paris well as on Zoom. As an educator, writer and photographer, she is a mine of information on food, drink and ingredients of many different regions and cultures—her motto is “introducing you to life at the epicurean edge!”

Marie leads tastings, masterclasses and workshops, and organizes events and tours on wine, sake, armagnac, olive oil, indigenous ingredients and other things gastronomical—covering a range of aspects including appreciation, diversity, culture, history and skills. In addition to her afore-mentioned private work for corporates, clubs/associations individuals and 3rd party training providers she lectured at the university of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy.

Marie judges wine, sake and spirits at International Wine Challenge. She is on the judging committee at the International Wine snd Spirits Competition in London. She panel chairs at competitions in Europe and around the world.  She is very active on social media, publishing her writings and her photographs on wine, sake, food, travel and fly fishing under her “TheLarderAt36” moniker on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as well as her own blog. Marie is currently scoping out a couple of book projects that will integrate aspects of wine, food and travel. She recently won a Guild of Food Writers Futures Bursary to continue research on her book.

She is on the council of the Association of Wine Educators, Circle of Wine Writers, committee member of the Guild of Food Writers, Chairman of British Sake Association and also member of  Culinary Academy of Japan (London). Marie recently became a rectifier of the Gin Guild.
