During my time at University I spent a year of study at Dijon University in France where I began to develop an interest in wine as a consequence of regular visits to the nearby vineyards around Beaune and easy access to French supermarkets where wine was so wonderfully accessible and affordable. On leaving University I joined Majestic Wine on their graduate trainee programme and worked my way up to Assistant Manager in various London stores while undertaking the WSET Diploma. Since 2006 I have worked in the events and press relations aspect of the wine industry with some well known and loved wine brands and regions including California, whom I work for currently as an employee of the California Wine Institute.

As part of this work and in my own time I have worked at many events presenting wines, organising and hosting tastings and preparing and writing the tasting and information materials. And I am also lucky to have had the chance to travel to many wine producing regions as part of my job including Rioja, Portugal, Bordeaux and Somontano.

I live in a village in Leicestershire where I try to make the most of the local good wine retailers to ensure I keep trying wines from as many regions and producers as possible.
