For those who love both Italian wine and cartography, Allessandro Masnaghetti’s incredibly detailed maps, both digital and hardcopy, are the place to go. Over the last decade he has made excellent maps of many wine zones, mainly Italian, but also in Bordeaux. His main area of expertise is Barolo, with several highly detailed maps available of the different Barolo communes.

We’re delighted to announce that this March all these Barolo maps plus a pile of associated information (commune and vineyard profiles, geology, producers…) are finally going to be available in one hard back book, which will be over 400 pages and featuring 200 3D maps.

For those who are members of Jancis Robinson’s Purple Pages, it’s available for £50 as a pre-release price. Apparently the full price will be £57. A lot, but for the cost of one expensive bottle of Barolo, for those who love the region and the wines it will be well worth buying.
